Potato Poriyal with sambar powder recipe

Quick curry leaf flavored potato poriyal recipe (My style)

At home I have tasted many varieties of potato fries and poriyal .This is one of my repertoire which versatile and tasty with many pulavs,rice and even dosas.I love garlic flavour in this recipe , you can avoid it if you want.Finely chopped curry leaves adds a unique flavor to this poriyal so dont hesitate to chop them.Try this one and I am sure that you will always opt this whenever you are fond of potatoes at home.I served this with coconut brinji which is my favorite combo.

Preparation time:10 mins
Cooking time:10 mins

We need:

 Oil-2 tbsp
Garlic-3 cloves (fine sliced)
Onion-1 big chopped
Curry leaves 4 sprigs chopped
Turmeric powder - 1tsp
Sambar powder - 2 tbsp
Water-2 tbsp
Boiled Potato-6 cut
Salt as required

Method:


  1. Heat oil in a pan,add garlic and roast till brown.
  2. Add onions,curryleaves and saute till onions turn transparent.
  3. Add in spices ,salt and water.Bring it to a boil.

  4. Add potatoes and mix them in the gravy.Close the lid and roast for 3 mins and switch of the flame.


  5. Sprinkle chopped curry leaves and serve hot with rice or pulav.
