Tasty Simple Mutton Gravy Recipe
Mutton Gravy for Idli/Dosa/Roti/Rice
We rarely cook mutton in our home and Last sunday we had few guests invited.So it was me who took this gravy where my mom did some veg dishes.This is similar to a normal kurma we do but I have added few modifications to enhance flavors and colors.Give this a try and you will always prefer it.

Ingredients
Mutton - 1/2 kg
Onions- chopped 1/2 cup
Tomato- 2 (medium-chopped)
Green chilli - 1 slit
G - G paste - 2 tbsp
Coconut - 1/2 cup chopped/grated
Fennel seeds-3 tsp
Kasakasa/poppy seeds - 2 tsp
Turmeric powder-1 tsp
Chilli Powder-1 tbsp
Curry Masala Powder-2 tbsp
Coriander Powder-1 tbsp
Pepper powder - 1 Tsp
Curry leaves,Coriander leaves- a handful
Clove,Cinnamon,Cardamom-1 (optional)
Salt to tasteWater-required
Oil-2 tbsp
For additional seasoning
Coriander powder-2 tspPepper Powder-2 tsp
Curry Leaves-1 sprig (crushed)
oil- 1 tsp
Method
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker,add the clove,cinnamon and cardamom. Saute for a min.Add in onions,Curry leaves and saute till they turn translucent.
- Add in G-G paste,Green chilli and saute till the raw smell leaves.
- Throw in the tomatoes ,sprinkle salt and saute till oil leaves near edges.
- Add all the dry powders and saute for 2 mins.
- Add in the Mutton pieces,salt and saute for 5 mins.(Adding salt makes the mutton leave water which will facilitate our mixing process).
- Once the mutton is coated with masala add water till the pieces submerge.Pressure cook for 5 whistles.
- In the mean time, Grind coconut,fennel and poppy seeds to a smooth paste by adding water.
- Once the pressure head drops,open the cooker add the ground paste and let it boil to require consistency.Could you smell it? Wow!
- Simultaneously , heat oil in a pan ,add the seasonings and let it go brown.
- Now pour this in to the gravy and mix well.Let it boil for 2 mins.Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
