Fried Idly Starter (Quick)

Ever worried with leftover idlies? Bored with idli upma and manchurians ? Then try this..You will always make this hereafter whenever you find idlies left. It can be a good starter for a party,an evening snacks or could turn as your kid's favourite. After all,it will be ready under 10 mins with minimal ingredients.Interesting isn't it? Give it a try and let me know.


Use only leftover idlies.Fresh idlies absorb more oil.Atleast leave the idlies for a minimum of 6 hours after they are made.

Ingredients

Left over idly- 5
Oil - for deep frying
Idli podi - 2 tsp or a dip

Method

  1. Heat oil in a pan for deep frying.
  2. Cut the idli pieces into wedges or fingers.
  3. Once the oil is hot,drop the idli pieces and fry till golden.Make sure the outer layer alone turns crisp(Don't leave the fingers in oil too long cause they will turn more crispier in inside and becomes so hard to bite).
  4. Strain it and sprinkle idli podi over it.Its ready..!! One batch may only take 5 minutes.
  5. Serve hot. You can even serve it with sauce or any dips.It will crispier from outside and idlier from inside ..
