Soya Chunks kheema balls Recipe (Fry)

Soya Chunks koala fry / Meal Maker Fry 


Soya Chunks are so much rich in protein and more than that it tastes like chicken when you cook it properly.I usually do a crispy fry with Soya chunks this way . I love to cook with them as they always cook quickly.

Serves:3 Plates

Ingredients

To grind 

Soya Chunks/ Meal Maker - 2 Cup Cooked (strained from water)
Curry Leaves-2 sprig
Coriander leaves- a handful
Chilly powder-2 tsp
Green Chilly -1
Garlic-3 cloves , Ginger - 1 Inch piece (or G&G paste - 1 tbsp)
Fennel seeds-2 tsp
Garam masala-2 tsp
Rice Flour - 2tbsp
Maida/wheat flour -1 tbsp
Red food colour- a pinch
Salt to taste

For frying

Any vegetable oil -for deep frying

To garnish

Curry leaves - few
Lemon - one- half

The Formula

  1. Remove the water from cooked chunks by pressing them firm.(Find how to cook them here)
  2. Grind the cooked Soya chunks to a coarse mix in a mixer.
  3. Add in the other ingredients and pulse it to a semi coarse paste.
  4. Heat oil in a kadai. Now roll the mix into small balls.Add flour if the mix is watery. Right consistency is when you can roll it stiff and the balls are firm as we do for vadai.
  5. When oil is hot, drop the balls carefully and fry them till they turm brown.
  6. Serve with fried curry leaves and lemon. Even tomato sauce will be a good dip.
